The Shrewsbury Public Library wouldn't run as successfully as it does without the support of a great volunteer team. This team participates in tasks such as:
  • Folding newsletters
  • Mending broken items
  • Shelving books
  • Watering plants
  • Everything else in between
If you're interested in serving as a volunteer at the Shrewsbury Public Library, here is some information you need to know.

Not everyone who applies for a volunteer position will be placed in a job - we receive numerous inquiries for almost every position we post. Last year, for instance, we had 566 volunteers serve for over 3,725 hours!

We favor applicants with library work experience and schedule flexibility. If you have further questions that are not answered with this information, please email the volunteer coordinator, Annie Lee King. Check below for current openings.

Teen Summer Volunteer sessions for 2018

Those that volunteer this summer must commit to four hours per week.

Summer vacations are expected, but if you're going to be gone for more than two weeks you will not qualify for this opportunity.  There will be other ways to help this summer!

All interested youth will have to pass a test in order to make the team.

There will be five orientations scheduled, but teens should only attend one (they are all the same!).

We appreciate all the interest, but we ask that parents do not force their children to be a volunteer.  Our strongest volunteer teams are comprised of young adults who WANT to help their library!
