Agendas & Minutes


Board of Selectmen meetings are scheduled for the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, beginning promptly at 7 at Town Hall. Agendas are available prior to the meetings.  Minutes are available following approval.

Additional information
Specific powers and responsibilities of the Board of Selectmen are set forth in Chapter 559 of the Acts of 1953 which is better known as the Town Manager Act and the General Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. These and additional duties include:
  • Appointing and overseeing the work of the Town Manager
  • Discussing, proposing, and voting on Proposition 2 ½ decisions
  • Issuing requests for interest in Chapter 40B proposals
  • Overseeing Chapter 43D (PDF) permitting
  • Reviewing and issuing licenses to do business in the Town of Shrewsbury
  • Reviewing annual department budgets
