[ARCHIVED] Important Message from the Water & Sewer Division - Seasonal, Low-Flow Hydrant Flushing

Hydrant Flushing Photo

On May 12th and 13th from 8:00 a.m. until around 12:00 p.m., the Water and Sewer Division will be conducting seasonal, low-flow, flushing at 464 Hartford Turnpike to ensure good water quality at this dead end section of water main. We are not anticipating wide spread water quality issues, however, with any work on the distribution system, that is always a possibility. Please see the attached map for more information.

If you experience discolored water, please run the cold water from an outside faucet or downstairs bathtub, avoiding hot water use until it runs clear.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to make improvements to our water distribution system to ensure reliability and good water quality. Please contact the Department of Public Works at 508-841-8502 with questions, or visit for more details.
